Astaxanthin, an antioxidant, is sourced from freshwater microalgae (Haematococcus pluvialis) grown with the pure waters of the Himalayas. Since the body cannot produce this carotenoid on its own, it must come from food or supplementation. Likewise, the beta carotene in this formula is derived from Dunaliella Salina algae. Beta carotene is a pigment naturally found in plants, as well as in yellow and red-orange fruits and vegetables.
